SANTOS MENDES, Everaldo dos y PERETTI, Clélia. God's first question. The humanitarian challenge of the 21st-century ecclesiology. Franciscanum [online]. 2022, vol.64, n.177, pp.10-10. Epub 12-Oct-2022. ISSN 0120-1468. https://doi.org/10.21500/01201468.5765.
In this article, we reflect on the Christian experience of God in the face of cultural emptiness temptation that plagues the «theologies» of secularization and the emptiness of God in "counter-theologies. In the investigative journey, we revisited the Catholic tradition's theological literature, mapping the contributions of the Christian experience of God theologies as the experience of fullness. Along this path, we outlined qualitative and bibliographical research. Within contemporary society, challenged by «permanent crises», corruption, barbarism, and pandemics, there is a lack of a Sacred Mystery capable of revealing the ultimate meaning of human existence. In the 21st century ecclesiology, the Christian experience of God - Latin American and Caribbean - claims for its historical praxis, the epiphany of the face of a God who suffers. This God, sensibly, assumes the burden of human existence, in solidarity with the suffering of concrete persons, of a living body, psyche, and spirit. A responsible, inclusive God, totally involved with humanity's destiny and the «Common House», which does not give up any of its creatures.
