There is no truthful statistical information in regard to the results of congenital malformation treatment in Colombia. For this reason, this study was designed in order to collect information with regard to the mortality in 4 big cardiovascular centers in the country, taking into account the mortality risk stratification and obtaining the mean values of the different categories established by the PCCC (Pediatric Cardiac Care Consortium). The values obtained may be used as a parameter to evaluate the centers that perform corrective surgery of congenital cardiopaties in Colombia.
