MENDEZ SAYAGO, Jhon Alexander y MENDEZ SAYAGO, Johanna Mildred. SIMULATION AND EVALUATION OF AN IMPLEMENTATION PROPOSAL FOR THE MINIMUM VITAL OF DRINKING WATER IN COLOMBIA. Semest. Econ. [online]. 2011, vol.14, n.spe29, pp.99-116. ISSN 0120-6346.
This article presents a simulation and evaluation of the minimum vital of drinking water implementation for the users of economic stratus 1 and 2, subsidized by the tariff increase of those individuals in stratus 5 and 6. The simulation demanded the estimation of water demand functions in order to determine the impact over drinking water consumption that stratus 5 and 6 generated by the price increases. It was determined that cities such as Neiva, Ibague and Cucuta the proposal is not feasible, and in other cities with good implementation possibilities such as Bogota, Manizales, Medellin, Cali, Bucaramanga and Santa Marta where the idea of supplying the population with up to 10 m3 of drinking water per household per month. In the cities of Popayan, Cartagena and Monteria, the proposal probably won't be feasible for the required 6m3 of drinking water per household per month.
