The objective of this article is to learn about the effects of human capital, violence and insecurity on the economic growth of the Peruvian departments during the 1994-2014 period. The econometric regression used is based on Ordinary Least Squares Method and indicates the existence of a partial interdepartmen tal convergence. The convergence rate is 0,415. The human capital accumulation (approximated for the years applicable for the study) shows a positive influence over the departmental economic growth, while violence and insecurity (represented by crimes against public heritage) shows a weak negative effect. An other variable that affects this process in a favorably is the higher level of commercial export integration.
