Resumen

DIAZ BARRADO, Castor Miguel. Some reflections about identity within the community of Ibero-american nations. Investig. desarro. [online]. 2013, vol.21, n.2, pp.419-454. ISSN 2011-7574.

The main purpose of Associations between States is the satisfaction of State's common interests with effects on State's peoples. Sometimes, these Associations are based on historical and cultural bonds existing between the States forming such Associations. Several States have created Associations and International Organizations on the basis of the aforementioned bonds, beyond a geographical basis. The Community of Ibero-American Nations is a historical and cultural Community which joins a meaningful number of States in the International Community. The identification of the Ibero-American identity appears as one of the most interesting aspects of this Community, since it would be helpful not only for setting the traits conforming the Ibero- Americanness, but also in order to identify which entities could be part of the Ibero-American Space in its different dimensions. It would also be useful for the designing of proposals to develop the objectives set in the Ibero-American Summit's Declarations, as well as mainly for the promotion of initiatives for the insertion of the Ibero-American identity in the international arena.

Palabras clave : Ibero-american Community of Nations; Identity; Cultural Cooperation; International organizations.
