This article analyzes the vital and societal implications of return migration and social and labor insertion in the urban context of Mexico. This study focuses on the construction of biographical narratives about mobility and displacement of contemporary international immigrants going back to Mexico from the United States; specifically to Nezahualcoyotl (Estado de Mexico) located in the Metropolitan area of Mexico City. The article analyses the life and labor experiences of immigrants between Mexico and the United States with the aim of contrasting the conditions and consequences of the analytical relationship between return-reinsertion-re-emigration or resettlement in the new regimes of global mobility.
