BALLEN RODRIGUEZ, Juan Sebastián. Back to the Cave. Technique and Mimetic Violence in Cybersex. Trilogía. Cienc. Tecnol. Soc. [online]. 2023, vol.15, n.29, e301.  Epub 20-Dez-2023. ISSN 2145-7778.  https://doi.org/10.22430/21457778.2447.

This article proposes a philosophical approach to the phenomenon of cybersex in a dialogue with sociology, mimetic theory and law. It aims to provide an interdisciplinary interpretation of this object of study, considering its applications for research on gender violence in the virtual world. This study adopted a methodology that combines elements of textual hermeneutics and situated analysis to examine the phenomenon of cybersexuality. One of the most outstanding results is the discovery that the technological and economic dynamics of webcam modeling reduces human life to a sacrificial mechanism, where the female gender is exposed to an endless chain of symbolic, systemic and subjective violence. Three main conclusions can be drawn from this dialogic analysis of the problem in question: (1) Cybersexuality functions as a technological device where somatic fictions generating entertainment are produced and where pleasure and violence alternate. (2) Webcam modeling reproduces a sacrificial dynamic, which ends up building a type of gender violence. (3) Technique and simulacrum, two instances, are combined in the world of cybersexual entertainment. As a result, the new human realities that dominate the world of virtuality pose ethical, legal and political challenges, which lead us towards a happy return to the cavern.
