This article aims at analyzing the influence of emotional intelligence on the development of labor skills, through the application of a survey to 122 graduate students with more than three years of work experience who are holding administrative positions. The methodology used is linear regression previously estimating an exploratory factor analysis to group the personal and social skills of emotional intelligence. In the results it is found that the emotional intelligence displayed in the emotional and social skills positively affects job skills, finding that aspects such as emotion recognition, teamwork, communication, achievement orientation, perception and negotiation are characteristics of the individual that favor the formation of skills affecting job performance.
