This study shows the main results obtained in our research on the presence of museums in Catalonia on Social Networks and the visibility of their sites online. Our methodology has been based on obtaining qualitative and quantitative data from two perspectives: comparative with other studies and evolutional by its own analyses. The results point out, on the one hand, that Catalonian museums are present in social networks, yet there are many centers that are still not on any platform. On the other hand, the visibility indicators obtained show a certain lack of interest in positioning on the web. In conclusion, this presence must be improved and empowered, and it must be used on more adequate platforms. This makes it necessary to create a specifically digital communicative strategy proposing some queries to reflect on and debate to continue moving on with new discussions and research projects.
