This work seeks to present some tests carried out in the laboratory to obtain a highly toxic compound, cyclohexene, from the dehydration of cyclohexanol. The experiments were carried out with the constant use of a gas mask and gloves due to the toxicity and danger of the reagents and products. Results were compared with the literature showing that the procedure used can be used for teaching students of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering courses.
