JURADO-GAMEZ, H e GUZMAN-INSUASTY, M. DETERMINATION OF KINETIC, TESTS AND GROWTH INHIBITION EFFECT OF Lactobacillus casei IN VITRO IN Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus agalactiae AND Escherichia coli. Rev. Med. Vet. Zoot. [online]. 2015, vol.62, n.2, pp.23-39. ISSN 0120-2952. https://doi.org/10.15446/rfmvz.v62n2.51992.
Kinetics, growth tests and in vitro inhibition effect of L. casei on S. aureus, S. epidermidis, S. agalactiae and E. coli. Was determined. commercial and strains isolated from milk samples with subclinical mastitis (La Victoria, Pasto, Colombia) strains were used. The effect of Dicloxacillin, Cefepime, Cephalothin, Ciprofloxacin, Gentamicin, Penicillin, Ampicillin and Trimethoprim Sulfa antibiotics, as well as inhibition of L. casei and the supernatant on bacterial pathogens was evaluated. L. casei growth was assessed at various gastrointestinal conditions and growth kinetics. Peptides and organic acids in the supernatant (HPLC) were determined. L. casei was susceptible to Ciprofloxacin and Ampicillin, while commercial S. aureus showed susceptibility to antibiotics, the same was observed in S. epidermidis, but strains of S. agalactiae and E. coli were susceptible. E. coli was the only strain resistant lactic. The supernatant had similar results to the strain. an increase of 2.3 x 107 to 1.1 x 1011 CFU/ml was found to various gastrointestinal conditions. Exponential phase was found to 16:48 h (3 x 1010 CFU/ml) and the pH, total sugar, acidity and protein during this phase variables were: 4.94; 0.88 mg/l; 2.89 mg/l and 1.9 mg/l. Peptide-VAL VAL-TIR and 83.46% lactic acid was found. L. casei probiotic characteristics showed good in vitro conditions that allow its application in vivo assays for controlling causative organisms of subclinical mastitis in cows.
