This article presents some pedagogical reflections on teacher training to approach Afro-Colombian school studies in our country. The main data collection tools have been the databases from specialized education platforms, the official websites of training programs -complementary (higher normal schools); university (BA in ethno-education); permanent and continuous (permanent programs of teacher training, diploma courses and chairs)- associated with universities offering these academic programs, as well as other links related to processes of formal education and education for work and human development in Colombia in connection with Afro-Colombian ethnoeducation and the Afro-Colombian Studies Chair.
