This year we joyfully celebrate 65 years of the Faculty of Nursing at Universidad de Antioquia, an institution with academic excellence in the formation of nursing professionals, for health care of individuals and groups in the clinical and community settings. On such a special date, it is the opportunity to recognize the historical trajectory, contributions, and commitment of those who over the years have contributed with its progress and development.

Today, the faculty which has among its advances an accredited undergraduate program for the last 16 years, positioning itself as a leading faculty in Antioquia and the country, arrives for the first time to the eastern region with capacity for 30 students, converting Nursing into one of the careers with the highest demand in this region and in the city of Medellín. Currently, the Faculty leads in the implementation of a second language in the undergraduate with high levels of quality. The graduate level offers Specializations in Nursing in Caring for Adults and Children in Critical State of Health and Nursing Care of Cancer Patients and their Families; the Masters Programs in Nursing and Collective Health, the latter with 20 years of trajectory and soon to be present in the region of Urabá; and the PhD Program in Nursing, which has graduated three PhD students.

At the outreach and research levels, the intention is that of reaching the regions of Antioquia thinking of an articulation of the Faculty in the local, regional, and national settings. A major progress is that our journal, Investigation and Education in Nursing, continues consolidating itself as a medium of high-quality dissemination, being one of the best serial publications in Iberian America and which two years ago achieved inclusion in MEDLINE-one of the world's most important bibliographic bases in health sciences.

These achievements and a host of others have been possible due to all the professional and human efforts by the academic community from the Faculty of Nursing, which with the management of projects in the mission of Universidad of Antioquia, i.e., teaching, research, and outreach have permitted the visibility of Nursing. This recognition also goes to all the people and institutions that have contributed to the progress and development of the Faculty and who have permitted celebrating 65 years Training Professionals to Care for Life and waging on a leading faculty in Humanism, which is modern, committed, and articulated with the development of the region and the country, and with international presence.
