This article, which is derived from an investigation, presents some analyzes that aimed to reactivate the discussion about practice and its complicated relationship with the fields of education and pedagogy. To this end, the paper revisits classic discussions about practice, in addition to relatively recent national academic debates. It also offers alternative perspectives about practice and stresses some tendencies of the present discourses with the help of philosophical tools. As a result of this analysis, the article shows the place of practice in the history of teacher training, inquiring about its relationship with theory or action and exploring its possibilities with training, education and pedagogy.
