NOVA-LAVERDE, Mariluz; ROJAS-MORA, Jaime Edison  e  GONZALEZ-MONTERO, Sebastián Alejandro. Inequalities and intersectionality: Approach to a social justice index. Cuad. Econ. [online]. 2022, vol.41, n.86, pp.305-339.  Epub 10-Out-2022. ISSN 0121-4772.  https://doi.org/10.15446/cuad.econ.v41n86.88714.

The theory of intersectionality postulates the importance of analysing the relationship between inequalities in order to shape social justice strategies. Considering that what is measured influences what is sought collectively (and vice versa), i.e., that the positioning of certain indicators can influence the way in which societies are perceived and in public policies, the design of a social justice index (SJI) that captures intersectionality is underscored. This proposal is based on debates on political philosophy and on the review of innovative exercises in statistical measurement.
