This article analyzes the reallocation of the public education budget in Chile between the years 2005 to 2018, revealing a scarcely explored field of State management. In the perspective of its modernization, exposes the need to incorporate new criteria in the design and control of this instrument, which includes the monitoring of reassignments and the evaluation of their impact, considering the educational policies that must be supported. Intra and interannual budgetary changes are relevant and recurrent, causing absolute growth of resources every year, evidencing a phenomenon that requires detailed studies to increase the efficiency in the use of resources.
