A genus check list of the Mantodea (Dictyoptera) deposited in the entomological collection of the ICN of the Universidad Nacional of Colombia, Bogotá campus, is presented. A total of 276 specimens of several regions of the country collected since 1945 comprise 6 families, 15 subfamilies, and 26 genera. The collection represents 100% of the families and subfamilies, and 55% of the genera reported for Colombia.
