This paper analyzes the classification of obligations between means and results, it goes into the main criticisms of the classification to point out the theoretical and practical limits between both categories and investigates its applicability in Colombian law; all this with the purpose of clarifying the requirements of "breach attributable to the debtor" in order for there to be civil contractual liability.
