OROZCO RESTREPO, Gabriel. Epistemic Communities in Security Studies and the Interpretation of World Order. Desafíos [online]. 2016, vol.28, n.1, pp.335-369. ISSN 0124-4035. https://doi.org/10.12804/desafios28.1.2016.08.
The purpose of this article is outlining an approach to the subfieldof Security Studies, presenting its major theories and concepts in order to understand the role that they have had in the interpretation of the changes and continuities of world order and their impact on policies or decision-making processes. The overall aim is to build a bridge between security studies as a subfield and the meaning that has been given to world order. The concept of epistemic communities serves as a methodological proposal for the different research programs in security studies, showing their influence on states, intergovernmental organizations and transnational forces - aiming to implement, perpetuate and project a vision of world order.
