The Catalog of Plants and Lichens of Colombia (CPLC) is the main reference of the country's flora, so it is important to update it. Based on a review of regional herbariums and North American collections, we propose new synonyms, species registration, and distribution extensions of the Melastomataceae for Colombia. In total, we provided 75 new species records for the country and established 23 new synonyms associated with the genera Adelobotrys, Axinaea, Blakea, Henriettea, and Miconia complementing the distribution by department and elevation of 29% of the Melastomataceae species present in the CPLC.
