This document is a product of research productivity and competitiveness of SMEs in the metalworking sector in the city of Barranquilla, whose purpose is to propose a model of a dual management system strategic-logistic for SMEs in this sector. For this, we carried out an investigation of Analytical-Inductive, framed in a qualitative paradigm, because the proposal sought the causes which hinder the optimization of resources sought by the logistics and the achievement of strategic thinking, so that forced to perform: a diagnosis of the current situation of these small metalworking in reference to their management models, there was an assessment of existing models and choose the most relevant elements who served in the construction of a dual management system strategic-logistic optimizing decisions of senior management within these SMEs.
