This essay seeks analyze models and management techniques employed by local entrepreneurs in the effort to carry out their projects. The rail can be considered the most decisive factor in the development of Girardot and region during the twentieth century about the impact on local, national and international levels reached the activity around this means of transport. Thus, it seeks to recognize and analyze the consolidation of the company and identify economic and competitive aspects of greatest relevance. The corporate history of the Girardot Railway makes possible to go in research on the definition of the causes and circumstances that led to the creation of the railway in the town, its evolution and major achievements over the decades, and the reasons that led subsequent disappearance as freight system.
