Editorial

In this issue of Hallazgos we celebrate an achievement, which certifies that our scientific and editorial quality is on the rise: the classification in the B category of Publindex. This is a recognition of the work we have made in the past few years, to form a scientific and editorial committee with qualified and skilled people, in areas related to Social Sciences; update our publication requirements, according to standards demanded by national and international indexing systems; making 100 % of the assessments with external peers to the Santo Tomás University; publishing authors from external institutions, and internationalize the journal. As a proof of this, in this issue we have five international articles (Venezuela, Spain, Brazil, Argentina and Russia), and contributions from national universities such as Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Nueva Granada Military University, National University, among others. This demonstrates that every time, our academic dialogue has a better scope of global coverage.

The following issue is a special one, not only because a wide number of articles is published, but also because it sets an important milestone in the history of the journal.

The thematic focus of this issue, shared with number 21, is the semiotics, approached from different perspectives in the first five articles. The following ones, which respond to other subject areas, are grouped mainly in two groups: social discourses and education.

This last topic is outstanding as it marks a transition between the history of Hallazgos from 2004 to 2014; it is a new stage that will begin from the next issue, in which the main theme of the journal will focus on Latin American studies from the perspective of social sciences (literature, history, anthropology, and sociology).

We thank those who are part of issue No. 22 of Hallazgos, either as authors, readers, peer reviewers, members of the committees or visibilizing agents of our publication.
