This paper shows results from a project, which asks how social capital, can be enforced through a volunteering program. For this purpose, it reviews theory about social capital and volunteering. Also, it shows how a qualitative research methodology was applied during one and a half year, in a Manizales (Colombia) district. Results propose a volunteering model with three action axes: free time use, drug addiction prevention in teenagers and training promotion. Conclusions highlight methodological, theoretical and practical issues as a research integrality exercise.
