Taking the framework of urban cultural history as its point of departure, this article explores the cultural practices, representations and meaning associated with the "11^th of November Promenade," one of the most emblematic public spaces in Sincelejo. Accordingly, this article offers a critical analysis of the references to the "11^th of November Promenade" that appeared in newspaper articles published in Sincelejo in the first decades of the 20^th century, which are available at the National Library in Bogotá. In particular, this article offers insights to the construction of the promenade and the appropriation of the site as a social space.
