GONZALEZ AMANCIO, María de Jesús; AGUILAR ZAMORA, Eldaá Madián  e  MONROY VELASCO, Iris Rubi. Archetype of death: a study in young Mexicans from Carl Gustav Jung’s perspective. Divers.: Perspect. Psicol. [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.1, pp.101-116.  Epub 30-Dez-2020. ISSN 1794-9998.  https://doi.org/10.15332/22563067.6535.

The objective of this research was to analyze the archetype of death found in the collective unconscious of young adults from Saltillo, who have had near death experienced, either directly or through a close relative. There were six participants: 2 women and 4 men, with ages ranging from 24 to 29. The data collection technique used was the in-depth interview. These interviews were conducted individually and in one session with each participant, with the exception of one individual who had two sessions, due to the amount of information. A discourse analysis was prepared with a hermeneutic approach, guided by Paul Ricœur’s theory of interpretation (2003). Three categories of analysis were made: concept, beliefs, and characteristics about death. At the time of categorizing the information, it was decided to add one more category, which is emotions and feelings about death.

Palavras-chave : Archetype of death; collective unconscious; youth; discourse analysis; hermeneutics.
