Problematic socio-economic and cultural current they need of diverse social actors that they contribute solutions of way proactive across diverse strategies, one of which is the volunteer service; that constitutes one of the forms more innovative and effective for the social development of a country The differences were investigated in the attitudes and the cognitive social strategies among linked youths and not linked to programs of volunteer service of Bogotá city. The investigation was framed inside the context of a model of social competence. A descriptive-comparative design was used. One worked with two intentional samples, the first sample belonged to 219 youths linked at volunteer service Institutions and the second of 237 youths that are not carrying out volunteer service; the two groups were constituted by men and women with ages understood between the 11 and the 18 years. It was applied the test of «Attitudes and Cognitives Social Strategies» (AECS) Moraleda, González and García (1998) that previously was adjusted to the population's characteristics in study Keeping in mind the mensuration level of each one of the variables shows up the descriptive comparative analysis. They were significant differences in 8 of the 19 sub-scales of the test AECS; being able to identify in these scales differential and characteristic elements of the behavior prosocial.
