CAYCHO, Tomás; CASTILLA, Humberto  e  VENTURA-LEON, José Luis. HOPE IN TEENAGERS AND YOUNG PERUVIAN: DIFFERENCES BY SEX AND AGE. Psychol. av. discip. [online]. 2016, vol.10, n.2, pp.33-41. ISSN 1900-2386.

The study describes the different characteristics of hope in young adults and college students by sex and age from Herth Hope scores Index, in its Peruvian adaptation (Castilla et al., 2014). For it was attended by 420 people, males (47.9%) and women (52.1%), aged between 16 and 38 years (average = 20.16; S.D. = 4.57). The results show that women, compared with men, are more likely to experience some degree of hope; while people of the older age group have higher scores in the hope that the younger age group, also, as the years elapse greater is the level of hope. The results contribute to a better understanding of hope, a variable associated with health and wellness, and allows an empirical framework to the design and implementation of intervention programs aimed at promoting the expression of positive variables.
