RODRIGUEZ-ARDILA, Valeria. The Amazon River: a strategic corridor for a tri-oceanic Colombia. Rev. Cient. Gen. José María Córdova [online]. 2019, vol.17, n.28, pp.749-770.  Epub 11-Maio-2020. ISSN 1900-6586.  https://doi.org/10.21830/19006586.510.

Colombia's physical characteristics, in terms of its abundance of rivers, represents advantages, unmatched by other countries in the region. However, their inadequate and poorly planned management hinder their development and exploitation, which require the establishment of goals that, beyond offering a favorable economic result, place the country at the geopolitical vanguard of the continent. Given this scenario, this article asks the following question: Can the Amazon River, as a strategic corridor, project Colombia geopolitically in the oceanic space of the South Atlantic? A proactive and prospective study was carried out to answer this question and explain how the Colombian State should project in a region that does not yet have positive participation in the national scenario.

Palavras-chave : Amazon; Colombia; geopolitics; South Atlantic; state; surface water.
