GOMEZ MONTOYA, Jesus Evelio  e  CUARTAS-ARIAS, Mauricio. Road accident: effects of sleep quality on the executive Functioning of urban public transport drivers. Rev. Investig. Innov. Cienc. The objective of this study is to understand how sleep quality, changes in executive functions and the possible association with the presence of traffic accidents in urban public transport service drivers is fundamental in accident prevention context in cities. This research developed a quantitative-analytical, observational, prospective and retrospective design, to evaluate three essential points: sleep quality, executive function and their relationship with the traffic accident rate of drivers. From a preliminary observation of public service and urban drivers made in 2010, a second evaluation was made up to 2016, to examine the three chosen factors. Our study was able to determine that the effect on sleep quality suggests a trend towards a deterioration in flexibility and planning tasks, which contributes to an increase in road accidents among public service drivers
