GUERRA LOPEZ, CARLOS MANUEL. Renewable energy projects in the wayuu indigenous territory. A disconnected relationship. Rev. Derecho [online]. 2023, n.59, pp.81-104.  Epub 30-Jan-2024. ISSN 0121-8697.  https://doi.org/10.14482/dere.59.612.519.

The wayuu Indigenous Territory is considered the ideal setting for renewable energy projects. However, the relationship between the sector companies and the wayuu people goes through a series of disconnections that complicate their interaction. Therefore, it is proposed to classify these disconnections between ontological and intercultural. Ontological disconnection is presented by conceptual discrepancies between the various ways of understanding and acting in the territory, while intercultural ones respond to the difficulties that prevent interaction between diverse cultures being mediated by genuine dialogue. Consequently, the most relevant disconnections are identified.

Palavras-chave : Disconnection; interculturality; wayuu ontology; renewable energy; environmental law; Indigenous rights.
