VAQUIRO-CAPERA, Carlos; REINOSO-FLOREZ, Gladys  e  GUEVARA, Giovany. Nymphal stages of Anacroneuria spp. (Plecoptera: Perlidae) and its relationship with physicochemical variables in three microbasins of the Combeima River, Ibagué, Colombia. Rev. acad. colomb. cienc. exact. fis. nat. [online]. 2020, vol.44, n.171, pp.458-470.  Epub 10-Jun-2021. ISSN 0370-3908.  https://doi.org/10.18257/raccefyn.951.

The order Plecoptera represents one of the most relevant groups of aquatic insects for bioindication in Colombia. In recent years, the knowledge on the order has increased greatly; nevertheless, in some areas of the Andean region, the taxonomic and ecological information is still incipient. Given the importance of the plecopterans in high mountain streams, we evaluated the relationship between the presence and abundance of nymphs of the genus Anacroneuria with physicochemical and bacteriological variables in three Andean microbasins associated with the Combeima River (Tolima, Colombia): Las Perlas, La Plata, and Cay streams. We conducted six daytime collections with a Surber net in different sections of the streams during a hydrological cycle (2016 - 2017) with high rainfall, low rainfall, and transitions. We registered 750 organisms of Anacroneuria and we assigned them to two morphospecies (Aspl and Asp2) by biometry. Specific relationships were found with certain physicochemical variables in each stream using a principal component analysis (PCA). A negative correlation was found in the Las Perlas stream between the abundance of Asp1 and phosphorus (r =-0.5266), in La Plata stream with electrical conductivity (r =-0.4725), and with nitrates (rs = -0.5569) in the Cay stream, while Asp2 was negatively correlated to chemical oxygen demand (COD) (rs=-0.5634) and positively to temperature (rs=0.6750), pH (rs=0.7079, nitrates (rs=0.5569), and phosphates (rs=0.6511) in Las Perlas stream. The Spearman correlation analysis determined that Asp1 presented a lower ecological response range than Asp2 regarding changes in the natural conditions of the water.
