This article aims to identify aspects of the technology needed to control the technology in the oil sector active companies. This was a research, done with a descriptive, not experimental and transactional design. The study population was conformed by twelve (12) Petroleum Enterprises. The instruments used were two questionnaires, one applied to managers and leaders and the other to the project engineers. These were valided taken the opinion of 10 experts. To determine the reliability, the method of Cronbach (alpha) was used, yielding a result of 0,88 and 0,87 for the line management to the operational line, which were considered highly reliable instruments. The results were analyzed being used descriptive statistics, based on absolute, relative; calculate the mean and the standard deviation frequencies. In the data analysis, was identified that the control of the technology companies in the oil sector requires legal authorization or administrative permits that have to be considered on the activities of the technology and procedures to understand and assimilate the largest number of shares in order to realize the transition from technology provider to receiver.
