CERNAS-ORTIZ, Daniel Arturo; MERCADO-SALGADO, Patricia e CAZARES, Filadelfo León. Common method variance in the relationship between job satisfaction and life Satisfaction. estud.gerenc. [online]. 2017, vol.33, n.145, pp.321-329. ISSN 0123-5923. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.estger.2017.11.004.
The aim of this study was to identify and measure the presence of common method variance in the relationship between job satisfaction and life satisfaction. The research design was correlational, non-experimental and cross-sectional. Specifically, a survey was applied to a non-probabilistic sample of 287 Mexican MBA students. The data were analyzed by means of the marker variable method. The results indicate that the relationship between job satisfaction and life satisfaction exhibits mild levels of common method variance. This finding casts doubt on the supposed severity of common method variance in self-reported surveys.
