Abstract

HAHN-VONHESSBERG, Christine M et al. DETERMINACIÓN DE LA CALIDAD DEL AGUA MEDIANTE INDICADORES BIOLÓGICOS Y FISICOQUÍMICOS, EN LA ESTACIÓN PISCÍCOLA, UNIVERSIDAD DE CALDAS, MUNICIPIO DE PALESTINA, COLOMBIA. Bol. Cient. Mus. Hist. Nat. Univ. Caldas [online]. 2009, vol.13, n.2, pp.89-105. ISSN 0123-3068.

The water quality of the Fish Cultivation Station in the Montelindo Farm of the Universidad de Caldas (Santágueda municipal rural settlement, Municipality of Palestina, Department of Caldas, Colombia) was established by measuring aquatic macro-invertebrates and physicochemical parameters. The sampling points were located at the water inlet and outlet, and several places inside the Station, these points were subject to the psychochemical parameters in order to anlyze the quality. 55 macro-invertebrate families were found, being Chironomidae the most frequent (32.5%), followed by Thiaridae (26.7%) and Palaemonidae (6.7%); the others were located below 5% representativity. According to the BMW`P/Col., the water within the Station corresponds to a class three or mildly contaminated, and its quality is not affected by its circulation in the Station, nor in its return to the "El Berrión" stream.

Keywords : macro-invertebrates; Chironomidae; Thiaridae; Palaemonidae; BMW`P/Col.
