Abstract

QUEVEDO DE MOURA, Julliane et al. Evidence-Based Interventions for the Prevention of Dating Violence: Systematic Review. Av. Psicol. Latinoam. [online]. 2025, vol.43, n.1, a12170.  Epub May 19, 2025. ISSN 1794-4724.  https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/apl/a.12170.

Dating violence among adolescents has a high prevalence and can be considered a public health problem due to its negative consequences. Actions and programs for prevention and coping are necessary. This systematic review aimed to map and analyze the methodology of feasibility, efficacy and effectiveness studies of interventions aimed at preventing dating violence with adolescents published in national and international journals during the period from January 2010 to December 2021. The languages of the articles selected were Portuguese, English and Spanish. The articles were searched in the SciELO, Scopus, Web of Science databases, and PsycINFO using the following descriptors "Dating Violence" AND "Prevention Program" OR "Intervention" OR "Treatment" AND "Adolescent" OR "Adolescents". Following the PRISMA model, with the use of the software Rayyan QCRI and Microsoft Excel, the final sample was made up of 53 items. The results indicate the predominance of efficacy studies, published in the year of 2019, in the USA, of universal prevention, in the school context, focused on mixed groups of adolescents. In general, we present evidence in favor of multicomponent group interventions, and less effective ones that are brief and merely psychoeducational. The topics addressed are mainly the identification, description and understanding of violence in people; training of skills; and modifications of beliefs and attitudes related to gender stereotypes linked to dating violence. Future studies should examine evidence of viability of selective and indicated prevention programs for adolescents in contexts of vulnerability.

Keywords : intimate partner violence; dating violence; adolescents; prevention.
