Abstract A psychometric scale analysis of happiness that developed Reynaldo Alarcon Lima (2006) in a sample of university students was conducted. The sample consisted of 322 college students from San Pablo Catholic University of Arequipa with an age range between 17 and 28 years. To determine the validity first proceeded to perform item-scale correlations, obtaining correlation coefficients are between .33 and .64. Cons-truct validity through exploratory factor analysis with the method of unweighted least squares was assessed, giving a value of .927 KMO. By rotation technique Promin four factors, that confirm the factors proposed by Alarcon found. It is concluded that Lima Happiness Scale has adequate psychometric properties that allow to recommend its use as a tool for evaluation of happiness in university population.
