Abstract The current architecture of the internet does not allow the introduction of innovations, due to, among other reasons, competition between service providers. Network virtualization has been proposed as a possible solution to this problem. For the implementation of this technology, an algorithm that can locate the virtual networks on the physical network resources in an optimal way, according to the metrics to consider, is required. This article presents preliminary research advances about the optimization of the algorithm PA-VNE, and its implementation through a software defined network.
