Abstract

SANCHEZ ALZATE, CARLOS ALBERTO. IMPACT OF THE FAILURES AND INTERRUPTION IN PROCESS. AN ANALYSIS OF VARIABILITY IN PRODUCTION PROCESSES. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2005, vol.72, n.145, pp.67-75. ISSN 0012-7353.

In this paper the preemptive outages influence of a workcenter over the production line performance is analyzed. Two techniques were used to carry out the analysis: process simulation to get a behavioral insight of the production line and mathematical models to estimate performance measures when it is submit to short and frequents outages and when it is submit to long and non frequent outages. Results of this analysis are compared with some enouncements of TOC philosophy (Theory of Constraint) and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).

Keywords : Factory Physics; Preemptive outages; TOC; TPM; Manufacturing; Simulation; Process.
