Talc found at the region of La Union (Antioquia) show high contents of iron, for this reason this material can not be used for some specific industries. ; The focus of this work was to develop, (at a lab scale) the way for processing this material and improving its characteristics, mainly its color. ; The tests done regarding this material were: ; foam flotation with Carboxyl-methyl ; Cellulose (CMC) and acid lixiviation, oriented ; to the decreasing of iron ; levels, obtaining ; ; 84.6% less of the normal content of ; Fe₂O₃, present ; in the mineral. ; It was also determined the Bond index to 150 mesh for this material; this information is vital to the determination of the cost in the milling instance, finding a ; value of 47.5 kW h/S t.
