Abstract

AMELL, ANDRÉS; COPETE, HENRY  and  CADAVID, FRANCISCO. DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF AN AUTOREGENERATIVE AND RADIANT COMBUSTION SYSTEM FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE PROCESS IN SME. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2007, vol.74, n.151, pp.61-69. ISSN 0012-7353.

Searching for new heating technologies that reduce fuel consumption, contaminant emissions and to improve the process productivity and products quality of high temperature process, it has motivated the researching and technologic development of the thermal systems. In that context, this article displays the results of the project: “Development and evaluation of an autoregenerative and radiant combustion system for high temperature process in small and medium scale enterprises (SME)” presenting the configuration, operation, characterization, operation parameters and behavior of a developed prototype that operates with 28 kW of thermal power based to the lower heating value, excess air factors of 1.05 and 1.20 and temperatures of air preheating until 700ºC

Keywords : Radiant tube; Combustion; Regenerative burner; Thermal radiation; Heat transfer; Emissivity; Temperature.
