Abstract

JIMENEZ, CLAUDIA  and  CEBALLOS, JUAN. ASSEMBLY MODEL FOR FLEXIBLE COURSES IN A VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT FOR AN ACADEMIC NETWORK. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2007, vol.74, n.151, pp. 161-169. ISSN 0012-7353.

This work presents a conceptual model for assembling flexible courses that allows the student to decide on different activities, to fulfil the established educative objectives to complete a course. The case of study is the virtual platform for an academic network called FORHUM (acronym, for Human Formation). This platform was created to facilitate the interchange of knowledge and the collaboration between members of an academic network from four institutions of Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Colombia that work on Habitat thematic. The proposed model arose from the evaluation of FORHUM platform assembly central, at its first version, and from the study of other virtual environments for Education. Recognized quality standards were applied in the evaluation to determine its characteristics as an e-learning tool. The new model for assembling courses allows their customization, according to different learning styles and, also, it lets transfer the course control to the student and facilitates the reuse of learning objects.
