Abstract
ROBLEDO, JORGE. FROM CONSOLIDATED RESEARCH GROUPS TO DYNAMIC INNOVATION SYSTEMS: THE PRESENT CHALLENGE OF THE COLOMBIAN SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2007, vol.74, n.152, pp.1-7. ISSN 0012-7353.
This article examines the strategy of university Research Groups as a determinant factor of their performance as innovation system agents. To go through this matter, an inter-institutional research project was carried out, whose outcomes show that, in general, researchers significantly value the establishment of linkages between their research projects and innovation processes and that, for this to happen, are ready to establish alliances with firms and other stakeholders, accepting the confidentiality and even the protection and exploitation of knowledge through profitable commercial activities. However, Research Group strategies at this level are scantly effective, mainly because their research capabilities are not adequately complemented with management capabilities accumulated by the university administration, as a result of a clear strategy addressing the integration of the university to the dynamics of the innovation system.
