Abstract
TOBON, JORGE IVÁN; RESTREPO BAENA, OSCAR JAIME and PAYA BERNABEU, JORGE JUAN. PORTLAND CEMENT BLENDED WITH NANOPARTICLES. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2007, vol.74, n.152, pp.277-291. ISSN 0012-7353.
In this paper a review about Portland cement blended with nanoparticles is presented. It shows as the nanotechnology is a new topic in cement industry to produce high performance concretes. Physical and mechanical properties had been evaluated by some researches incorporated particles of nano-SiO2, nano-Al2O3, nano-Fe2O3, nano-TiO2, magnetite ash, carbon nanotubes and high fine fly ash to compare them with blended cement with silica fume, slag furnace and fly ash. It was found that exits a few work about mineralogy modification of paste cement and durability of mortars by incorporation of nanoparticles. Beside, definition of interaction process, better blend percentage and real participation of strength resistance are few known.
Keywords : nanoparticles; high performance concretes; nanotechnology; nanocomposites.
