Abstract

OSORIO SARAZ, JAIRO ALEXANDER; VARON ARISTIZABAL, FREDY  and  HERRERA MEJIA, JHONNY ALEXANDER. MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR OF THE CONCRETE REINFORCED WITH SUGAR CANE BAGASSE FIBERS. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2007, vol.74, n.153, pp.69-79. ISSN 0012-7353.

A material composite of concrete cane bagasse fiber was prepared, where the fibers presented a random distribution within the composite. We studied the influence of the size and the fiber addition expressed in percentage of the gross weight, the resistance to compression and the density of the material. This it studied found that with fibers retained by the sieve N° 6, and with an addition between 0.5 and 2.5% of fibers in relation to the gross weight of the heavy aggregate, it offered a resistance between 16.8 and 8,6MPa, to the 14 days of setting, and between 141 and 336 kg/m3in its density compared with a concrete heavy of 2400 kg/m3.

Keywords : Sugar cane bagasse fiber; Composite materials; Building materials.
