Abstract

CAMPO CEBALLOS, DIEGO A.  and  RODRIGUEZ PAEZ, JORGE E.. TETRAGONAL ZrO2 OBTAINED BY CONTROLLED PRECIPITATION METHOD. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2011, vol.78, n.165, pp.224-233. ISSN 0012-7353.

In this work, ZrO2 tetragonal stabilized with calcium oxide was synthesized by the controlled precipitation method. Ceramics powders were characterized using Differential Thermal Analysis and Thermal Gravimetry Analysis, (DTA/TG), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Results show that ceramic powders treatment thermally at 600 ºC, presents ZrO2 in tetragonal crystalline phase; this powder contained particles of nanometric size. The mechanism formation of particles was discussed.

Keywords : ZrO2; tetragonal; synthesis; controlled precipitation; characterization.
