ALVAREZ-RODRIGUEZ, BEATRIZ; MENENDEZ-AGUADO, JUAN MARÍA; ROSA DZIOBA, BLANCA e COELLO-VELAZQUEZ, ALFREDO LÁZARO. RAW MATERIALS EVALUATION IN A SILICA PROCESSING PLANT TO INCREASE THE ENERGY EFICIENCY IN THE GRINDING PROCESS. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2013, vol.80, n.177, pp.95-100. ISSN 0012-7353.
The aim of this study was the optimization of the power consumption in a grinding plant of silica and the consequent reduction of CO2 emissions. The methodology used consisted on applying the Bond theory for the selection of raw materials to the plant, which operates at two different grinding sizes (100% passing 50 and 75 mm). The experimental tests were carried out with samples picked up in the plant, from different ores but similar chemical properties. The results pointed that the energy consumption in the plant can be reduced up to 30% in both cases, avoiding CO2 hourly emissions of 293,83kg and 128,86kg for each size.
