Abstract
CASTANO, SANDRA M. and MAIXE-ALTES, JAVIER. DESIGN AND SIZING OF A SWITCHED RELUCTANCE MOTOR FOR AN AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATION. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2013, vol.80, n.181, pp.81-90. ISSN 0012-7353.
This article provides guidelines that reduce the complexity of the design process of switched reluctance motor (SRM) and include the effects of machine geometry, configuration and performance parameters of the SRM for an 42V automotive application. The ranges of operation or design guidelines are incorporated into a systematic method of calculation implemented in Matlab® in conjunction with a commercial finite element analysis (Maxwell® by Ansys). In order to obtain the characteristic analytical results of the flux linkage and torques for some rotor positions according to proposed requirements. Additionally, these results are compared with those of commercial software to check the fit to the specifications proposed.
