Abstract

SUAREZ-FAJARDO, Carlos Arturo; MENDEZ-MARIN, Diego Rafael; PINEDA-RODRIGUEZ, Alexander  and  PUERTO-LEGUIZAMON, Gustavo Adolfo. Patch antenna with reconfigurable sense of rotation for CubeSat satellite applications. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2016, vol.83, n.199, pp.157-164. A shorted annular ring (SAR) antenna design with circular polarization and reconfigurable sense of rotation improving the axial ratio by means of a 90° hybrid coupler is presented in this paper. The whole structure dimensions are 76mm x 76mm x 3mm, therefore it can be integrated in to one side of a CubeSat 1U satellite. The proposed design shows a wide impedance bandwidth of 33.33 % from 1.9GHz to 2.66GHz frequency band, with reflection coefficient inferior to -10dB and maximal gain of 6.1dBi at a central frequency of 2.35 GHz.

Keywords : Shorted annular ring antenna; CubeSat; Reconfigurable antenna; Circular polarization.
