Abstract
ERAZO-CIFUENTES, Yovany Arley and VIDAL-HOLGUIN, Carlos Julio. Deadheading minimization of the mass transportation system in the city of Cali Colombia. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2022, vol.89, n.221, pp.151-160. Epub Sep 14, 2022. ISSN 0012-7353. https://doi.org/10.15446/dyna.v89n221.98403.
A model is presented for optimizing the bus allocation to depots or workshop yards (WY), minimizing the total daily fuel consumption of the system during empty runs (non-commercial), and considering the different types of buses, the WY capacities, the demand, and respecting the participation of each WY in the operation. The model is tested in a case study located in Cali and its results reveal noteworthy cost savings opportunities by means of different strategies.
